Amazing, another great podcast. I like the band concerts as it reminds me when I used to play the cymbals in high school. Don't laugh, it was the only thing I could do...perform a cymbal crash every now and then. I enjoyed it immensely and got into more than my share of trouble with the band teacher. I loved it!

Sandy, thanks for the great podcasts. The Durufle just bowled me over! I really enjoyed this week's podcast as well. I thought it was really funny that Dr. Stikney went to a school so he could take Civil War history classes and yet, never took a history class. It is very interesting that your interviews involve people that I will never meet and have never heard of before, but they are all interesting as Ken has them tell their own life story. To be honest, I never really cared for the type of music you use for your podcasts. I listened to one of your podcasts several weeks ago (don't remember which) and I became interested in Sandy reading the comments. She has a very nice, pleasing voice and I probably thought a few things about here I shouldn't have. Then the Christmas music came and I started to get interested in the performances. The Messiah was a bit much to handle (no pun intended) but the others were more to my liking. Now I am hooked as I can't do without my "Sandy fix" each week. Now I find my musical tastes are starting to change and I appreciate your music much more. Thanks and keep on going Sandy!

I have physical problems that keep me away from many concerts. I have a syndrome that effects my nervous system and I find it is impossible to keep myself still or quiet, I'm sure you probably know what this is. However, I do adore classical music and I love to go to concerts, there is nothing like hearing a live performance. This is why I love the recordings Ken does. They still have that "live" sound to it and the way you do your podcasts, makes each performance sound live, even though they are not. Take the Durufle Requiem, although you made it sound like you were actually there at the concert, I know you could not have been there, unless you had a time machine. I thought that was very cleverly done. So anyway, please forgive me going off topic, your podcasts allow me to be in the concert without actually being there. I can pause the concert, when needed, and resume after my situation has calmed down enough to listen again. Sandy makes an excellent podcast hostess and I love her soothe and calming voice. I never get a seizure when she is talking. I don't know what it is, but her sweet angelic voice keeps me calm. The music is great and Ken's recordings are the very best. I don't know how in the world he maintains that "live concert" feel in his recordings, but, great job Ken! I especially loved the last SUU band concert because I truly felt like I was in the middle of it, I could picture myself up on the podium conducting the band and I can hear every nuance, every tap of the foot, every breath, everything.
So thank you Sandy, Ken and those at OSU and SUU that support them, for bringing the concert hall to one who can no longer go to a concert hall. You have absolutely no idea how important your weekly podcasts are to me and probably others around the country like myself. I hope you guys podcast forever and a special thank you to Sandy for her sweet calming voice. I really appreciate that to no end.

Sara, just wanted to thank you for your ideas for recitals. I had my first one here in Savannah, Georgia last night. We had a small wind ensemble, a couple of vocalists and a trumpet player perform to a group of about 30 people. Our recital was held at a local church and even though the 30 were swallowed up by the size of the church, it was an enjoyable evening and everyone there told me how much they really enjoyed themselves. One elderly lady told me she hadn't been to a concert in over 20 years because they are too expensive and she was glad I started this up so she could go. I teared up when she told me, you should have been there to see the sincerity in her face when she told me. I have my 2nd recital scheduled for Feb. 16th and we have a small group from a dinner theater coming over to put on a little abbreviated version of their show for us. When they heard that I was putting on recitals here in Savannah, they called me! I know it is to entice people to come to their dinner theater, but it should be a fun evening anyway. I asked them to keep their "commercials" limited to handing out fliers at the end of the recital and they agreed. Oh, I also tell everyone at the end of the recital to listen to your podcasts, so hopefully, you will be getting more "happy listeners" from Georgia!

Sandy, after listening to your podcasts for many weeks, I feel like you have become that "special someone" in my life - sorry, I couldn't resist, I'm only kidding. After reading this week's many, many comments I sometimes wonder how you put up with so many lonely men out there.
But honestly, you do have a wonderful voice that just keeps me coming back week after week. I know you stumble over your words from time-to-time, but that only makes your podcast seem more real, more honest and frankly, who really cares? I love the message of kindness that you deliver with each podcast in your thoughts. I thought Sulinda's thought was absolutely great and hope we can all be more tolerant towards each other. I wish, in the middle East, they could learn that lesson. Instead of harboring bad feelings from generation to generation, why don't they just forgive and forget? Frankly, I don't understand it. I hope your message catches on.
